LDnet is preparing a series of short webinars on vacant, underused, liminal, transitional and “invisibilised” spaces. The idea emerged from the LDnet Working Group “New Ideas” and aims to collect and share practical stories from local development actors across Europe.
We are looking for short contributions from practitioners, researchers, local authorities and community organisations on spaces such as abandoned buildings, former industrial or military sites, underused infrastructures, temporary reuse initiatives, informal occupations, leftover spaces, or places made invisible by planning and policy processes.
Each webinar will last around one hour and will present one or two stories, followed by discussion. The stories may also be published on the LDnet website to create a small archive of experiences and practices.
Members interested in contributing are invited to send a short description of 5-6 lines, indicating the place, the issue, the actors involved and why the case may be relevant for local development.
