This new award was launched on 15 October 2024 and is now open for applications. It aims to showcase great examples of how local communities and individuals are tackling economic, environmental, and social challenges to build rural resilience. It also seeks to boost local empowerment across Europe by helping applicants share their experiences, practices, and knowledge with others. The award will help achieve Michael Dower’s vision of a better future for Europe’s rural peoples and places, while strengthening democracy from the bottom-up.
The Michael Dower Award has two main categories.
- The Award for an outstanding community initiative in rural resilience.
- The Award for an outstanding individual effort in promoting rural resilience.
Applications can be submitted HERE no later than 14 February 2025.
