The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission and the Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO have announced an open call for applications for the 2024 territorial peer review on integrated development strategies in non-urban areas (i.e. ITI, CLLD or other type of territorial tools) of the 2021-2027 programming period. The main topic of this edition is demographic change, however all non-urban 2021-2027 strategies are eligible to apply.
The territorial peer reviews are two-day workshops planned for local authorities in charge of designing and/or implementing a development strategy in non-urban areas under the EU Cohesion Policy 2021-2027, including Integrated Territorial Investment (ITIs) strategies, Community-led Local Development (CLLDs) strategies and other types of territorial tools in non-urban settings. The aim of the events is for strategy owners to learn from other local authorities from across the EU, experts and EU Commission representatives, exchanging challenges that they came across in their planning and operational journey.
The peer-reviews are an in-person two-day workshop based on an innovative methodology that will allow local authorities receive insights and tailor-made advice from European colleagues (peers) and experts on how to improve the development and implementation of their strategy. The peer review workshop will take place on 24-25 September 2024.
