The European Policies Research Centre (EPRC) is highlighting the outputs from its recent study on Cohesion Policy territorial instruments implemented in 2014-20, including the final report of the study, instrument fiches and country fiches.
The five types of territorial instruments covered by the study are:
- SUD ITI – Sustainable Urban Development Integrated Territorial
Investment - Non-SUD ITI – Non-Sustainable Urban Development Integrated Territorial
Investment - CLLD – Community-led Local Development
- SUD PrAx – Sustainable Urban Development strategies included in a Priority Axis of an Operational Programme
- SUD OP – Sustainable Urban Development (SUD) strategies implemented through a dedicated Operational Programme
The instrument fiches provide concise overviews of:
- Key features (governance characteristics, funding patterns, thematic and territorial focus)
- Performance and key lessons in terms of strategy quality, territorialrational and governance
- Added value
- Success factors
- Barriers and caveats
EPRC stresses that of particular interest is Community-led Local Development (CLLD), which is a bottom-up approach empowering local people to design and implement territorial strategies for tackling social, economic, and environmental challenges in their areas. CLLD can be implemented in both urban and rural areas. The CLLD fiche is available HERE.
