As discussed in the recent LDnet webinar on the way that the MFF proposals are likely to evolve in 2026, there several proposals that are currently being discussed focussed on specific amendments to the draft Regulations.
Some of the proposals are substantial. For instance, the recently published draft CoR Opinion on the NRPP Fund Regulation goes far in ambition and detail regarding the Territorial Development earmark and Regional Check (including local development). This is going to be voted on 3 February 2026. It is coauthored by both the EPP and the Socialist group and is supported by the Cohesion Alliance, so it is likely that it will be adopted as it is.
