In the context of the discussions on the “OECD Principles of Rural Policy”, the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities (CFE) is launching two new workshop series focused on two issues that are central to effective rural policy: rural communication and rural proofing. The discussions will feature perspectives from policymakers, journalists, community voices, and practitioners and offer practical insights for strengthening rural proofing and communication with rural communities.
Rural Communication – a Three-part Dialogue |

Strengthening Policy Effectiveness Through Better Communication with Rural Communities: Communication is the bridge between policy and results. Done well, it activates participation and builds trust. It can be a powerful tool for promoting understanding and engagement with policy actions. This three-part series explores where communication breaks down in rural contexts, what getting rural communication right looks like, and how governments can assess whether their communication efforts are actually improving outcomes. |
