LDnet | CLLD Community Led Local Development

CLLD Community Led Local Development

The Commission has included the idea of Community Led Local Development in its regulations for [Structural Funds], Agriculture and Fisheries. Saying that it will be a LEADER style approach is one thing, but what does this mean for urban areas? How big will areas be? Who is meant by the Community? Will grass-roots organisations really be at the table? Will NGOs be able to bid for EU funds on the same terms as public sector bodies. In short will the LEADER revolution really move to the cohesion policy?

Polish Network of LAGs supports the statement on CLLD

Dear Sirs,

The Polish Network of LAGs – the Federation of regional networks of LAGs in Poland is a union of associations. The members are 15 of regional networks of Local Action Groups representing about 280 LAGs – more than 80% of all ones in Poland.

Polish Network of LAGs supports the statement of LDnet about Community-led Local Development. We have only two remarks:

• the statement should be directed also to local stakeholders (in the first sentence),

• it is necessary to “fight” for a compulsory ring-fencing of 5 % of EAFRD for CLLD because e.g the Polish Government is against this proposal.

We translate your statement into Polish and we plan to distributed it over country.

Best regards,

Chairman Polish Network LGD

Janusz Bartczak

A statement entitled Community-led local development: making it a success has been prepared by a group of LDnet experts and is supported by several organisations and networks with a long experience and deep knowledge of local development.

Comments and statements of support are welcome on this blog!
