How to create a new post
To start a new post (any post, you can delete it later) go to Dashboard > Posts > Add New.
Give your post a title in the top box, then write or copy/paste an existing block of text. Remember to select the relevant ‘Category’ or categories and, optionally, ‘Tags’.
Then, click ‘Publish’ to save and publish the post.
How to edit one of your existing posts
If you are inside an existing post click ‘Edit post’ or start by going to Dashboard > Posts and select the post you want to edit.
Then, proceed as for a new post. Click ‘Update’ to save and publish the post as edited.
How to insert a picture
When creating or editing a post you click on ‘Add Media’. Then select from ‘Media Gallery’ or click ‘Upload Files’ to upload from your hard disc or a URL link.
Then, Select File > Open > Insert into post. (You’ll have the option to change the size, alignment etc. of the picture)
How to attach a PDF to an existing post (only editors can do this at the moment)
Send your PDF to Haris or Nicolas, who will mail you back a shortcode.
Then, go to the existing post to which you want to attach the PDF, click ‘Edit Post’ and paste the shortcode inside the text box of the post (preferably at the end). Click ‘Update’ to save and publish the post as amended.
(Optional: you can insert the PDF logo as a picture, next to the code, but it won’t be clickable unless you link the PDF logo to http://ldnet.egicity.com/wp-content/uploads/bsk-pdf-manager/thenameofyourfile.pdf).
How to create your new profile in Who’s Who
Go to Dashboard > Portfolio Items. Then, proceed as for creating a post.
If your profile has been created by a different author send an email to Haris or Nicolas (below) to make you the owner so you can make any changes you want in the future.
How to edit your profile in Who’s Who (if already created)
Go to Dashboard > Portfolio Items. Then, proceed as for editing a post.
Note: Posts and pictures appearing on home page
The most recent posts will appear if they have been categorised.
A picture to appear in the home page needs to be set as ‘featured image’. Insert also the image in your post if you want it to display in your text. If unsure you may leave this to the editor to do …
